For a complete list of cast & crew go to Tour of Duty on IMDB The StoryTour of Duty, which first aired on CBS on September 24th 1987 was a series about the soldiers of Bravo Company led by Cpt. Rusty Wallace , Lt. Myron Goldman and Sgt. Zeke Anderson. The series was best appreciated not only for its illustration of the tragedies of the war but also for its portrayal of the personal lives of the individual platoon members and their interaction with each other. It represented the diverse mixture of young men and women, mostly teenagers, from across the US and takes place in 1967 when the war had escalated to terrifying heights. The young men find themselves thrown into combat in Southeast Asia where they face enemy troops as well as their own fears as they struggle in a hostile environment just to keep themselves and their fellow soldiers alive. Tour of Duty was the first televison series about the Vietnam War and ran for 3 years, 1987 to 1990, and followed Bravo company from their first camp at Firebase Ladybird to their eventual movement to Camp Barnett where they became a part of a Special Operations Group. The first season of Tour of Duty was filmed entirely on location in Hawaii but was then moved to Los Angeles for season two and three In memory of Lee Russel We have recently lost a beloved member of our Tour of Duty family in the passing of Lee Russel. Lee was a Viet Nam Veteran and military advisor to Tour of Duty for Season One and was an invaluable contributor to this site. His professionalism and phenomenal knowledge was evident in everything that he did and not only was he part of the original show but carried his love and knowledge of Tour of Duty to the fans. Lee( or Mr. Russel as he was known to fans) spent hours of his own time replying to and educating fans on our message board with his humor and wealth of knowledge. He will be truly missed by all. It is a loss of a great friend and mentor to me and also a loss of a very enthusiastic and integral part of this site. Lee is survived by his wife and several pets that he loved like children. Lee will truly be missed but never forgotten. Deborah, Webmaster What's New! Visit the Fans & Cast Pics for pics of fans who have met TOD cast members.
