The Boy of Steel Promotion

Darryl and Jim Leyritz, who were teammates on the Yankees made their acting debuts in the play that is based on the book of the same name by Ray Negron, a special assistant for the Yankees. The play was part of a fund-raising show at Utopia's Paradise Theater in the Bronx scheduled for Sept 22,2007.


Darryl has teamed up with his friend, Ray Negron, to promote his inspirational children's book, The Boy of Steel.
Profits from the book will benefit cancer research and education.
Ray Negron, longtime baseball executive and currently special advisor to the New York Yankees recently announced publication of his children's book, "The Boy of Steel.
Negron has penned the children's book loosely based on one boy, Michael Steele Wilkins, who came to see the stadium when he was dying of brain cancer. "The Boy of Steel" has climbed to ninth place on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

Darryl and Ray recently did several events to promote the book with a book signing by Ray and a baseball seminar by Darryl. Proceeds from all events will go to cancer research and
the Darryl Strawberry Foundation for Autism Awareness.

Darryl and Ray Leyritz, who were teammates on the Yankees 1996 World Series championship team,made their acting debuts in the play that is based on the book of the same name by Ray Negron, a special assistant for the Yankees. The play will be part of a fund-raising show at Utopia’s Paradise Theater in the Bronx scheduled for Aug. 22.

Strawberry will be the designated voice for the Mets for the 2007 First-Year Player Draft, to be staged June 7-8 at Disney's Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Fla.and will identify the club's first selection.
