Our Cruise
October 18-25,2004

Day One
Our First Day at Sea

Lisa, Ryan, Ronnie, Dad,Deb, Lou & Tammy at the welcome station boarding the ship
Our voyage started on Saturday morning Oct 18th as we arrived in Miami.
Our destination... the private island of Labadee, Haiti, Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and Cozumel, Mexico.

We were met at the airport by reps from Royal Carribean and amongst other excited travelers were taken by bus to the dock where we first laid eyes on the magnificant "Navigator of the Seas".

After going through security we were allowed to board the Navigator and were directed to our cabins on Deck 7.

We very excitedly found our cabins and began the enjoyable task of unpacking and "settling in" for our voyage.

We found our cabin to be more spacious than we actually anticipated with all the amenities and the "piece d'resistance" was our private balcony overlooking the sea.

The Windjammer

After unpacking we decided we were starved and bagan looking for a place to sample the awsome food that we had heard so much about.

It didn't take us long as we arrived on Deck 10 to the magnificant "Windjammer" buffet style restaurant with an array of food that could satisfy any appetite, and it definitely lived up to it's reputation.

We immediately knew we were going to like this place!

After our first delicious meal we decided to take a walk on deck
as we were leaving Miami (below)

The main Promenade (Mall)

Deck 12
We took a mini tour of the ship
and could not believe our eyes at the grandeur
and size of the awsome Navigator.

Shortly after our self guided tour of the ship we were all very tired, hot, fed and ready for our first "siesta" ... NOT!!!... as we were called to Deck 3 for the routine " Muster Drill". This consists of putting on your life jackets, that are found in your room upon arrival, and gathering for an emergency drill. It is an emergency drill mandated by Coast Guard for all Cruise ships.
Although the drill was not really that long, 30 minutes, it seemed like a lifetime and we were finally released to go back to our activites.

After a short rest we were ready for our first "formal" dinner in the Navigator Formal Dining Room
Since it was the first night at sea dress was casual for dinner this evening in the dining room.
The following evening was formal dress and although everyone complained we all secretly enjoyed "dressing up" and treating ourselves to a magnificant dinner as VIP's.
During the dinner in the formal dining room we met our waiter Rico, who would be our waiter for dinner in the Dining Room for our entire cruise.
Some of the menu items for dinner consisted of Lobster, Filet Mignon, Prime Rib, various fish, chicken, pork or veal entrees. Of course each was a full course meal with various appetizers, soups, salads, breads and of course magnificent desserts.
Guests are allowed to choose any menu items they want and as many items as they want.
After dinner the Dining Room Staff usually would provide some type of entertainment to diners such as group signing that usually ended with guests up from their seats dancing throughout the entire Dining Room.

Following our dinner we went to the ship's Amphitheater for a sampling of the free entertainment.

Throughout the week we were treated to many different shows in the Amphitheater each evening such as a Broadway review" Contemporary Broadway, a comedian that had everyone rolling in their seats, an impersonator "The Man of 1000 Voices" a magnificant Ice Show in Studio B( the skating rink), and Beatlemania Live.

The Navigator also had 32 bars including a piano bar, a disco, a Pub, a Sports Bar and a Latin bar. For the adventurous it had an ice rink, rock climibing wall and basketball court. For those wishing to keep in shape it had a Sauna and ShipShape Center as well as a walking track. And for the teens, the Fuel Bar, with music and soft drinks.

Our first evening at sea was over and we reluctantly retired to our cabin for the night totally exhausted but looking forward to the rest of the week's adventures.
