Our Adoptable Cats Updated 11-28-09

About Adopting Cats & Kittens
Before you consider adopting a shelter cat or kitten please read the following
.
  • Shelter cats/kittens are sometimes the victims of abuse or negligence. They often require a lot of patience and love to adjust to their new home.
  • If you cannot devote time & patience to the cat/kitten you are about to adopt you may want to re-consider.
The application process is detailed and involves a lot of work by volunteers before the animal can be placed in your home.
If you adopt a cat/kitten from us please be sure you are ready to follow through with your obligation of this time and patience.
  • If you have children please BE SURE the children are ready to respect the cat/kitten. Animals are NOT TOYS.
They need and deserve respect, love , patience and supervision with children. Cats will scratch if they are mishandled or mistreated by children.
Be sure if you adopt a cat/kitten that you are willing to teach your children how to treat and handle them in order to prevent injuries.
If you are not ready or willing to do this then please do not adopt.
  • Shelter cats/kittens sometimes require time to adjust to their new home. They usually will adapt with no problems however if they need some time please love and respect them enough to give them that time and space that they need to learn their new environment. In order to make it a smooth transition please do not force them or expect them to immediately adapt to you or your home. Allow them to stay in their cage, pen, or small room until they are ready to come out and become friends with you. Sometimes this may take days or weeks and you must have patience.
  • Finally....remember their last owner may have been abusive to them and it may take time for them to trust anyone again. If you cannot accept this then please do not adopt.

If you have read and agree to all of the above then you are ready to look at all of our gorgeous cats/kittens and hopefully find it in your heart to give them your love and a new home.
